Job Description

Summary :

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully complaint work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities :

  • Develops and implements safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions by performing the following duties.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and procedures to ensure personnel and facility safety.
  • Monitors and controls company's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Develops and implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries.
  • Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
  • Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included.
  • Evaluates human activities working with new machinery and equipment to identify hazards.
  • Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities; to identify and correct potential hazards; and to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determines requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs, or directs installation of, safety devices on machinery.
  • Conducts or coordinates safety and first aid training to educate workers about safety policies, laws, and practices.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Inspect, test and evaluate the safety and quality standards and expectations of products and production equipment.
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that products meet all safety and quality and testing requirements, including operating internal testing labs, and ongoing outsources certified testing.
  • Prepare, review, and issue environmental and health-related permits in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of all issued permits.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update comprehensive emergency response plans for the plant, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and deliver training programs for all plant personnel on emergency procedures, safety protocols, and the use of emergency equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Experience :

  • BA is advantage.
  • Relevant training certifications
  • 5+ years manufacturing safety
  • 4+ years’ experience in safety and health program management
  • Expert understanding of OSHA, and knowledge local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies
  • Sound / Ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently
  • CPR / First Aid Certified
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Bilingual in Spanish - Advantage
  • 30% Travel required
