Summary :

Catholic Homes, a key housing entity within the Archdiocese of New York, oversees over 2,600 affordable housing units across Manhattan, Staten Island, the Bronx, and parts of upstate New York, with an additional 2,000 units in various stages of development. We are seeking a Project Manager of Capital Improvement and Construction to support our Construction and Asset Management teams and is responsible for overseeing renovation projects, large-scale capital improvements, and construction activities across the portfolio. This role requires strong project management, technical expertise, and a commitment to sustainability to meet operational, financial, and regulatory objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Budget Management : Develop and monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify potential financial issues to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Schedule Creation and Management : Collaborate with design and program teams to establish project timelines and manage schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
• Staff Coordination : Supervise in-house staff, delegate tasks effectively, and coordinate activities to meet project objectives.
• Document Review : Examine contract documents and pre-bid estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Bid Package Assembly : Coordinate the preparation of bid packages for submission to procurement, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
• Bid Evaluation : Assess bid proposals, research bidder qualifications, and recommend suitable contractors for project execution.
• Agency Coordination : Liaise with external agencies, such as the Department of Buildings and the Department of Environmental Protection, to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Record Maintenance : Organize and maintain comprehensive project records, including contracts, reports, and correspondence.
• Site Visits : Conduct regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress, ensure adherence to plans, and address any issues that arise.
• Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact among property managers, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in the construction process.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Performance Monitoring : Develop and track key performance indicators for project success, regularly presenting findings to senior management.
• Problem Solving : Identify and resolve construction and operational challenges promptly, minimizing disruptions to residents and operations.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :

This is a full-time position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with flexibility required to accommodate project deadlines. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.
