Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Clinic Medication Aide for a 13-week travel assignment in Lincoln, Nebraska. Required Qualifications:

  • One year of recent experience as a Medication Aide
  • Valid Medication Aide Certification in compliance with state regulations
  • Valid CNA Certification in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possible certification in CMA, RMA, NCMC, CCMA, PMAC, COA depending on position
  • Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements
Summary:

A Medication Aide supports nursing staff by safely administering medications to residents in a long-term care (LTC) or healthcare setting. They ensure medications are given accurately and on time. They monitor residents for any side effects and document all medication administration properly.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Greet and prepare patients for exams, collecting medical history and documenting symptoms
  • Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort
  • Perform basic lab tests and collect specimens for diagnostic testing as required
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by a healthcare provider within scope of practice following state regulations
  • Provide patient education, explaining treatments, medications, and follow-up care instructions
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient check-ins, ensuring efficient workflow
  • Maintain and update health records with accurate patient information
  • Handle insurance verifications, billing, and prior authorizations for procedures and medications
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient visit
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
