About The Role

Join a dynamic and innovative team at Planet, where you'll play a pivotal role in the verification of our FPGA based designs which are fundamental to imaging operations of our cutting-edge satellites. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of FPGA infrastructure, verify new designs and the integration of commercial IP blocks. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse group of engineers, including electrical, RF, camera, and firmware specialists, to deliver fully validated designs for our satellites.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own

  • Create and improve verification environments using SystemVerilog and formal tools.
  • Collaborate with RTL / SW engineers to develop verification plans, improve coverage, and streamline hardware integration testing.
  • Write and debug tests to deliver functionally correct blocks and systems.
  • Automate verification flows and work with AI&T to develop production testing flows.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  • 6+ years of experience developing DV test plans, verifying RTL using SystemVerilog, and assisting in lab-based debugging of FPGA-based digital designs with processors.
  • Expertise in scripting and programming (Python, C++, shell).
  • Proficiency of version control systems (eg., git) and managing releases to production.
  • What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in validating hardware / software interfaces.
  • Experience verifying high speed serial protocols including PCIe / NVMe, MIPI, CameraLink, JESD204B, etc.
  • Experience in bringing up and maintaining design, validation, and build tools.
  • Experience with field deployments, debug, and upgrades.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $162,600—$203,200 USD.
