MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Requires a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or equivalent designation preferred
Advanced Knowledge of Legal and Accounting Standards
Expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to successfully lead and empower a team
Aptitude to adapt and learn new financial software and systems
JOB DUTIES
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This includes preparing detailed financial reports, analyzing financial data, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Accounting Manager works closely with other departments, agencies, and committees to support strategic decision-making and maintain fiscal responsibility. Additionally, this role manages part of the county election process and levy calculations for all taxing districts in the county.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The primary physical effort involves extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer while performing, the duties of the position. Will require physical activity such as lifting and moving heavy boxes and equipment.
