About The Position

Job Title : Electroencephalography Technologist

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : EEG Tech

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum of two years of training and experience as a practicing clinical Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist.

License : Must have current licensure.

Certifications : BLS certification required. R. EEG.T certification preferred.

Must-Have : Pediatric experience preferred. Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital is required. Prior traveler experience is highly preferred.

Description :

The Electroencephalography Technologist is a multi-skilled allied health professional.

They perform diagnostic testing procedures including electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and intensive care unit continuous EEG monitoring.

This work is performed under the direct supervision of senior staff and a physician responsible for results interpretation and clinical correlation.

The technologist must analyze data during recording, ensuring information is valid and interpretable.

A relevant patient history guides how tests will be conducted, requiring knowledge in clinical neurology.

The technologist will work in various settings including outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, and intensive care units.

Travelers will float based on current staffing needs, possibly working in multiple units during their assignment.

Weekend rotations and some holiday shifts may be required.

Travelers must be able to meet strict passing criteria for required exams prior to start.

Travelers will also need an active telemetry competency on file.

Candidates should be prepared for pass / fail testing with strict passing criteria.

The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

All candidates must meet specified experience requirements in the specialty they are applying to.
