About This Opportunity :
Schedule / hours : This is a Full Time Position. Monday Friday. 80 biweekly hours.
This position is responsible for :
- Assists the Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Director in the overall management and dedication of resources in the achievement of the Salvation Army mission. Assists in the development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of the ALM Divisional EDS resources; oversees the operation, maintenance, and inventory of the ALM Divisional EDS warehouse; oversees the operation, maintenance, and inventory of the ALM Divisional EDS fleet. Supervises full-time, part-time warehouse manager and / or temporary personnel as required.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensures the disaster warehouse located in Flowood, MS is in satisfactory operational order, stocked with adequate inventory and in good repair at all times.Acts as the organizational fleet manager and provides technical guidance to local Salvation Army units on maintenance and / or repairs to disaster vehicles.Maintains an updated inventory and status of all EDS assets.Coordinates the demobilization of all EDS owned / leased / used equipment post disaster or deployment; and as necessary when trading in / selling / scrapping equipment.Maintains awareness of Salvation Army facilities throughout the ALM Division that may be, or have been, used as staging sites for disaster equipment, vehicles, or personnel before, during, or after a disaster.Travels within the ALM Division to inspect, maintain and or repair disaster equipment (canteens and other vehicles) as needed or instructed by EDS Director.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate well the English language.Ability to interpret, analyze, and compute numbers. Ability to key information and easily operate a computer. Ability to operate and answer the telephone (including cell and satellite units). Ability to read, understand, and take advantage of geo-political maps (printed and computer generated). Ability to perform routine and complex mathematical computations. Ability to Drive / Operate a canteen.Work is performed in a warehouse, community center, kitchen, or store environment, or in driving a vehicle (5-10% of time) where there are discomforts associated with changes in weather; there are occasional discomforts associated with noise, crowds, dust, lint, chemical odors and the like.When work is performed in conjunction with disaster relief efforts, there is exposure to extremes in weather, living in temporary shelters without modern conveniences and possible exposure to infectious disease and dealing with human suffering associated with disasters.Employee Benefits :

High school diploma or G.E.D. with experience in performing / working in a logistical and warehouse environment and two years progressively responsible experience overseeing a warehouse environment or logistical work and two years' experience driving large vehicles or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.License and Certifications :
