Responsibilities Work in a short-term acute care hospital on a Med / Surg Telemetry unit Care for adult patients including post-operative orthopedic trauma cases Patient ratio is typically 1 : 6 Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Floating between units and to sister facilities may be required No on-call responsibility Weekends are required as needed Use of the Epic EMR system is required Required to complete pre-employment modules prior to start Team members must wear solid navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code Travelers are expected to float as needed and should be flexible with assignments Must commit to working 3 out of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Minimal to no requested time off is preferred and must be disclosed up front Free parking available in designated employee / visitor lots Requirements Active TX or compact state RN license in hand At least 1 year of recent Med / Surg Tele experience required Experience with ortho trauma care, post-operative management, blood administration, and wound vac management Current BLS certification required Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Former permanent staff must wait 3 months before returning as a traveler Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622265.
