SUMMARY
Performs interior and exterior building operations, renovations and repairs to campus buildings which require the carpentry field. Performs repairs and maintenance as needed to buildings such as general carpentry, cabinet and shelf making, walls, doors, floors, and mechanical devices such as door openers.

Ability to lift 50 pounds, work from ladders, and work in non-permittable confined spaces. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment of the trade.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Required : High school or equivalent degree. Technical training in carpentry and maintenance or two years experience as a carpenter or maintenance technician.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
Language skills
Must be able to orally communicate in fluent English, using a two-way radio system. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and implement verbal and written instructions.
Other skills and abilities
Ability to use hand tools and power tools common to the carpentry and maintenance fields, knowledge of chemicals used in the carpentry and maintenance fields. Employee must have good organizational skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
