Ikigai is a 10-course Japanese Kaiseki restaurant located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
The shifts are Tuesday–Saturday nights for approximately 38 hours per week.
Responsibilities :
Curating, presenting, and serving sake, wine, whisky, beer, and other beverages on our menu.
Explaining beverage selections to guests with knowledge, enthusiasm, and accuracy.
Managing beverage inventory, including tracking, ordering, and organization.
Assisting with overall dining room service including drink service, clearing, resetting, and guest support.
Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure fluid service and proper pairings throughout the tasting menu.
Upholding restaurant-wide standards of cleanliness, teamwork, and hospitality.
Contributing to a team-based service model where all staff participate in setup, breakdown, and guest care.
Requirements :
Strong knowledge of sake, wine, and spirits, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly and passionately.
Ability to explain beverages to guests in a clear, approachable, and engaging way.
Experience in beverage inventory management preferred.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Attention to detail, organizational strength, and commitment to hospitality.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
