American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Birthing Center / Mother Baby position requiring obstetrics and labor & delivery experience, night shifts, and a WV or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in an acute care hospital within the Birthing Center / Mother Baby unitUnit includes 6 L&D suites, 11 postpartum private rooms, and a 4-bed OB Emergency DepartmentPatient population consists of laboring mothers, postpartum mothers, and newborns, including high-risk OB casesCare includes L&D, postpartum, and OB emergency care with support from in-house OB hospitalist and neonatology teams 24 / 7Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines : L&D 1-2 patients, Mother Baby 4 coupletsRequired to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and participate in holiday rotationsFloat required for cross-coverage between related unitsC-section experience required; must be able to circulate and recoverUses Epic EMR and Centricity FHM for fetal monitoringScrub uniforms provided for L navy scrubs required for the Mother Baby unitTelemetry is available and monitored in a telemetry roomPosition involves mother baby and labor & delivery nursing including direct patient care and cross-coverage between unitsFamily-centered environment with advanced perinatal care certifications and a focus on safe sleep for infantsLactation consultants and sophisticated infant security system (Cuddles) are availableTeam includes 24 / 7 charge nurses, OB techs, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy supportNo IV team; nurses perform their own IVsOrientation includes a 12-hour onboarding shift and an additional 12-hour shift with a preceptorParticipation in holiday coverage is requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyNo on-call requirement for travelers, but open shifts may be picked up\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV RN or compact state RN licenseCurrent certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRPA minimum of 2 years of labor & delivery experience is preferred; 1 year of mother baby experience is acceptableC-section circulating and recovery experience requiredExperience with Epic EMR and Centricity FHM is preferredMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligiblePrevious permanent employees must have at least a 2-year break from prior employment at any WVU Medicine facilityReturning travelers must have a 2-year break after 1 cumulative year worked within the WVU systemMust provide an unexpired driver's license for consideration\n Benefits\n
