The Project Engineer is responsible for managing complex design and drafting assignments with minimal supervision. This role supports project management, vendors, and customers throughout the project lifecyclefrom concept development to successful commissioning. Responsibilities include new product and system design, improvements to existing offerings, and coordination across engineering, sales, and customer service functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed drawings and models from written and verbal specifications
- Develop product and process designs using CAD software and engineering principles
- Prepare multiple design solutions to meet project requirements
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new projects
- Ensure model accuracy and adherence to drafting standards
- Collaborate with designers, drafters, and engineers to maintain coordinated design efforts
- Manage small?scale projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Oversee project commissioning and customer acceptance
- Travel to customer sites for installation and support as needed
- Review and maintain project drawings and revisions
- Maintain and update drafting library
- Develop 3D models from prototypes and 2D drawings
- Check engineering drawings for compliance with specifications
- Provide timely technical support to internal teams
- Participate in project meetings and customer calls
- Prepare engineering documentation for customer submittals
- Collaborate with sales to develop project concepts
- Coordinate with customers, assembly teams, vendors, and contractors
