Responsibilities Position is in the Outpatient Operating Room of an acute care hospital setting Responsibilities include first scrubbing and circulating orthopedic, podiatry, and minor plastic procedure cases Shifts are 8 or 10 hours starting at 0615 or 0645 based on case schedule May be assigned late days to stay until cases are finished Average of 12 cases per day across 6 operating suites Call shifts are required, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with 30-minute response time and rotating schedule No self-scheduling; employees may coordinate call shifts together Requires floating to other surgical areas (One Day Surgery or Main OR) as needed Uses Epic for charting RN will collaborate with charge nurses, a 24 / 7 nursing supervisor, and OR techs Rotational holiday call coverage is expected Floating priority is given to other qualified surgical units when needed No local travelers accepted per 50-mile radius requirement for WVU facilities Scrub attire is expected as per operating room standards Requirements Active WV or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience Current BLS certification required Must be able to first scrub and circulate orthopedic procedures Experience with Epic EMR preferred Previous work as a traveler at any WVU Medicine location requires a 2-year break before reapplying Travel nurses cannot work within WVU for more than one year without a 2-year break Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618276.
