Role and Location
The Building Automation Systems Specialist handles the centralized control of a building's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and other systems through a building management system or building automation system (BAS). This position supports jobsites throughout our Midwest Zone and requires traveling between 50% and 75%. The ideal locations include Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, or Bloomington, IL.
Responsibilities
- Assist with building automation system startup, ensuring all systems and components are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to customer requirements.
- Collaborate with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity; report to the local Supervisor and receive direction from a mentor and Lead Technician.
- Assist with commissioning new Distributed Digital Control Systems on construction sites; ensure all systems function as required.
- Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress.
- Plan work with a mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader.
- Complete commissioning within planned timelines.
- Submit accurate time-keeping daily and expenses weekly.
- Work overtime when needed and accommodate overnight travel within the Midwest region.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Electro-mechanical experience and user PC / software skills.1+ year of experience with building automation systems, related education (BSME or Associate Degree in a technical field), or electrical experience.Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.Willingness to work in various conditions (climbing ladders, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, etc.).Ability to differentiate wire types / colors, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; capable of carrying up to 75 pounds unassisted.Team-oriented with dedicated customer support mindset.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Verbal and written English communication skills.Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and limited violations.Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Willing to travel overnight 50%–75% of the time.Preferred Qualifications
