About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 3 years RN experience in a hospital setting.
License : NYS RN License
Certifications : BLS, NRP
Must-Have : NICU Level 3 & 4 experience, mechanical ventilation management experience, degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
Description :
The Clinical Nurse provides safe and competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their significant others.
Delivers patient care incorporating the principles of a professional practice model and the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
Assesses and evaluates patient care needs while applying critical thinking skills in patient management.
Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills during the delivery of nursing care.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including education and planning for post-hospital care.
Educates patients and caregivers about their care plan, health promotion, and disease prevention based on their readiness to learn.
Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
Manages patient assignments within a Care Delivery Model while effectively allocating resources.
Role models principles of patient-centered care through various patient care actions.
Consistency in understanding patients’ preferences and establishing therapeutic relationships is essential.
Implements evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patient perceptions of care.
Initiates service recovery strategies for patients and family members when concerns arise.
Demonstrates respect, compassion, and active listening in all interactions.
Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge that are crucial for quality and safety in the patient population served.
Implements process improvement strategies based on evidence and institutional procedures.
Collaborates to create and execute quality improvement projects and engage in review processes.
Maintains compliance with quality and safety practices and documentation standards.
Facilitates efficient patient throughput while coordinating patient care duties.
Contributes to a supportive environment for patients and families.
Advances clinical competence to enhance nursing practice.
Encourages life-long learning, innovation, and ethical principles in decision-making.
Participates in shared decision-making through practice councils and unit initiatives.
