Description of the role :
Toyota of Santa Barbara is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and new hire onboarding. This position plays a key role in ensuring our employees are supported from their first day through every paycheck, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multi-department operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead the onboarding process for new employees, including conducting orientations and coordinating training
- Assist with benefits administration, employee inquiries, and payroll-related reporting.
- Maintain clean and reconciled payroll schedules, including payroll journal entries and benefit invoice reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits with professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements :
Previous experience in payroll management and onboardingProficiency with Paylocity or other HRIS / payroll platforms.Payroll experience in the automotive industry a plusStrong understanding of CA labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirementsDemonstrate discretion, integrity, and professionalism in managing confidential employee and payroll informationExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaborate with team membersBenefits :
