About the Opportunity
The Senior Technical Analyst is a proactive, service-driven, highly skilled IT professional responsible for delivering secure, efficient, and user-friendly technology experiences across the Foundation. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this role is pivotal in bridging end-user needs with technical solutions, ensuring seamless collaboration with our Managed Service and Security Provider (MSSP), and supporting the Foundation's mission through operational excellence. This individual will collaborate with the MSSP (overseeing their day-to-day network, infrastructure, and endpoint support), the Senior Technical Architect (partners on cloud solution configuration, integration, and optimization), and the Application Analyst (coordinates on application support, user training, and project delivery).
Responsibilities
Technology Solutions & Network Administration
- Function as the primary technical liaison with the MSSP, managing escalations, monitoring security operations, monitoring network and endpoint performance, and driving continuous improvement.
- Partner with MSSP on Tier 2 / 3 support for enterprise systems (Microsoft 365, Exchange, Azure AD, Box, Zoom, Salesforce, NetSuite, and MDM platforms).
- Oversee day-to-day network operations, application workflows, and user access, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and data integrity.
- Coordinate with the Senior Technical Architect to support cloud configuration, training, documentation, integrations, and optimization projects.
- Support application analyst with onboarding for new hires, ensuring seamless and consistent experience.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and workflows to support effective troubleshooting, project continuity, and institutional knowledge.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Function as the technical lead for cybersecurity governance, collaborating with the Director of Technology and MSSP to implement and monitor policies aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.Promote a strong security culture through regular training and communication.Document all cybersecurity incidents and responses to support lessons learned and continuous improvement.User Enablement & Training
Design and deliver engaging technology training sessions and resources to drive adoption and digital confidence.Develop, deliver, and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation, tutorials, and a knowledge base, ensuring training materials are always accessible and up to date.Regularly assess user needs and recommend technology or learning interventions to improve productivity and reduce barriers.Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead or co-lead IT initiatives, including application rollouts, process improvements, and infrastructure upgrades, coordinating with the Application Analyst and other stakeholders.Collaborate with teams across Programs, Finance, HR, and Operations to align technology solutions with organizational needs.Develop project plans, manage milestones, track issues, and communicate progress to stakeholders at all levels.Document project scopes, decisions, milestones, and lessons learned to support effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.Oversee the full lifecycle of technology assets, including procurement, setup, inventory, and refresh planning.Serve as the primary contact for telecom and internet vendors, managing service issues and vendor relationships.Collaborate with the Application Analyst to support the setup, adoption, and ongoing maintenance of audio-video equipment and software, ensuring seamless integration and optimal user experience.Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to support innovation, collaboration, and security.Desired Skills and Experience
6–8 years of experience in technical support and systems administration in hybrid or cloud-based environments.Demonstrated expertise in : Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, Azure AD, Box, Zoom, Salesforce, NetSuite, and MDM platformsNetworking fundamentals (DNS, static IPs, VPNs, firewalls), VOIPCybersecurity best practices (NIST or similar frameworks)Audio video equipment and software (ZOOM, Teams)Experience working with MSPs and external vendors in a hybrid IT environment.Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or related field, or equivalent experience.Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience developing and delivering user training and instructional resources.Document project scopes, decisions, milestones, and lessons learned to support effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated and proactive, with a keen sense of ownership and follow-through.Excellent communicator—able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and proactively anticipate user needs.Instructional design mindset : skilled in creating materials that improve adoption and digital confidence.Strong organizational and time management skills, balancing operational, project, and strategic work.Collaborative and adaptable; able to build trust and work effectively across functions in a mission-driven environment.Detail-oriented and committed to data privacy, operational security, and continuous improvement.Compensation and Benefits
The James Irvine Foundation's compensation philosophy is reflected in its Talent Advancement Program, which was created to assure equity in staff compensation. While every staff member is assigned a Tier based on demonstration of competencies, the Foundation looks to outcomes as criteria for advancement through the program's Tiers. The positions are benchmarked against relative industry and occupational groups and reviewed regularly, with the goal to deliver compensation equitably throughout the organization.
