General Inspection

Job Summary:

Grand Valley Manufacturing is seeking a General Inspector to join and grow with our Titusville, PA team. The entry level general inspection position will perform inspections using fixed measuring tools and perform a variety of tasks that assist operators and inspectors with the production process.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform safe lifting and maneuvering of parts utilizing hoists, overhead crane, jib crane, and/or forklift.
• Assist operators with transferring parts between production steps and finished goods inventory.
• Wash and stamp parts with GVM product number for identification purposes.
• Assist Quality Inspectors with quality assurance testing, moving parts as needed.
• Perform inspections using physical, fixed measurement tools (GO/NO-GO gauges, thread gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.). Record inspection data, including results, for traceability.
• Assist in the preparation of parts for shipment, including but not limited to preparing parts and/or preparing part boxes for shipment and staging boxes for shipment.
• Load / unload trucks as needed.
• Remove full bags of scrap from machines and replace with empty bags. Prepare scrap bags for shipment, banding, weighing, marking them with relevant information. Load for shipment.
• Perform daily inspection of all forklifts and cranes at the start of each shift, completing all necessary paperwork. Identify and report any issues.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the production area, includes but is not limited to, emptying garbage cans, sweeping the floor, and operating a walk-behind floor scrubbing
• Assist, as needed, with capital expense projects.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience and certification to operator forklifts is strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand. Frequently required to squat; climb; kneel; lift up to 35 pounds; carry up to 24 pounds; and use hands/fingers for simple grasping and reaching. May on occasion bend at the waists; reach above the shoulder; crawl; lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers for fine manipulation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. The employee will be required to wear eye, foot, and other personal protective equipment as designated.

Additional Notes

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Full-time work week is 40-55 hours Monday – Friday, 10-hour days Monday-Thursday. 12-hour shifts are sometimes required to meet delivery schedules. Saturdays (1/2 days) as needed.
