Role & Responsibilities
- Apply, deploy project quality strategy.
- Control quality activities on site to ensure compliance with instruction and objectives.
- Manage, ensure on-time delivery and control of quality deliverables.
- Participate in the "feedback of experience" process.
- Supervise and inspect works under responsibility (including works by subcontractors) to ensure compliance with technical, standard regulations, quality, EHS and contractual requirements.
- Ensure procedures are in place and respected during every step of the installation works.
- Communicate with Engineering for support or site technical inquiries.
- Produce / complete requested records (site record sheet, inspection report, etc.) following control performed.
- Ensure site record sheets are well-completed (measurements, temperature, instrument details, names, date, unit, reference, etc.).
- Analyze and validate the conformity of measurements with support of the technical supervisor; manage, complete and follow inspection and test plans (ITP).
- Manage stakeholder's witness / hold points planning for the site phase and coordinate notification to stakeholders.
- Monitor that inspections and tests during assembly and commissioning are conducted, checked, approved, and documented as prescribed in the ITP and technical documents.
- Inspect Engineering Instructions (DI) related to activities under responsibility to validate conformity of the works performed; sign DI and classify it into the applicable Site History Docket.
- Manage and control measuring and testing equipment on site (including calibration certificates).
- Obtain and validate qualifications (e.g., welders, NDT inspector) according to works performed.
- Validate, before tests or measurements, if equipment is calibrated and calibration certificate has been obtained.
- Control measurement and test methods to ensure compliance with technical / standard requirements.
- Validate, review documentation produced by subcontractors and ensure compliance with project management and contractual requirements.
- Manage and keep updated site history dockets during the entire site activities.
- Act to prevent any non-conformity and detect anomalies; raise them into the NCM database.
- Report any high critical non-conformity; re-inspect NC to ensure works are completed as directed and close NCRs in the NCM database.
- Participate in NC, CoNQ root cause analysis and share feedback with the site team.
- Realize redlines and ensure supervisor and subcontractor document their modifications; own redline drawings (validation, recording, conformity, transmission).
- Work with approved documentation and latest revision; ensure subcontractors use latest drawings revision or specifications.
- Ensure receiving and shipping are managed effectively by the responsible person.
- Perform preliminary works inspection, correct anomalies to minimize punch list items for final walk-down with the stakeholder.
- Manage and communicate the punch list.
- Participate actively in site planning and mitigation of delays at site.
- Lead and manage a crew of skilled laborers, including delegation of tasks, supervision, safety meetings, and staff guidance; involved in hiring and firing decisions.
Qualifications / Requirements :
Minimum of 10 years of prior hydroelectric generator experience, preferably in a supervisor capacity.Graduate Engineer or graduate of construction management.Knowledge of maintaining multi-purpose hydroelectric generating facilities (dams, powerhouses, valve and gate houses, and related equipment).Minimum of 5 years in mechanical installation of shaft lines, turbines, or generators.Experience with safe operation of heavy construction equipment.Theory and application of repair and replacement practices for mechanical equipment and heavy industrial machinery used at hydroelectric facilities.Principles and practices of customer service.Excellent computer skills and MS Office knowledge.Adherence to all safety instructions detailed in the site EHS plan; proactive on safety topics at the work site.Ability to report quality issues and non-conformities and ensure the site quality plan is respected.Ability to lead, motivate, and empower staff.Excellent communication skills to drive outputs.Proficient in shaft line alignment, bearing settings, mechanical precision tools and measurements, and on-site machining tools.Operate project gantry cranes (not mandatory).Proficient with a wide range of hand and power tools; able to read manuals, drawings, plans and specifications; strong written and verbal communication; able to establish effective working relationships; problem-solving capability; able to work under pressure.Why Join PTAG?
