Overview

Senior Operations Manager, Site Leader, AGL role at Amazon. Multi-Site Leaders are responsible for budgetary, people development and operations objectives for multiple facilities. They manage and lead teams across locations, coach and mentor to ensure performance objectives are met, and build leadership bench strength within the organization. The leader must be nimble, exercise high judgment, make quick decisions in ambiguity, and demonstrate strong innovation. They lead teams with a bias for action, ownership, and the ability to hire and develop the best, while driving cost-efficient, best-in-class operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process changes, and Lean initiatives to meet or exceed the business plan.
  • Ensure overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience across facilities.
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable for their departments and teams.
  • Share best practices across all departments, shifts, and the network.
  • Collaborate with support functions (HR, Finance, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Safety, and other leaders) to secure resources for projects and initiatives.

Additional Job Elements

  • Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds; regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching
  • Stand / walk for long periods; some facilities are extensive in size
  • Work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature, including chilled and frozen spaces
  • Access all areas of building (ladders, stairs, gangways) safely
  • Travel up to 50% of the time
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of Amazon blue-badge experience
  • 7+ years of direct management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
  • Experience with full staffing lifecycle (interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, terminations)
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations or related technical field; MBA or Master’s preferred
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle stressful situations with good judgment
  • Interest in long-term career development through assignments across multiple buildings nationwide
  • Experience with contingent workforce during peak seasons
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and independent problem-solving ability

    Our compensation reflects labor costs across US geographic markets. Base pay for this position ranges from $121,500 / year to $200,900 / year, with variations based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon provides a full range of benefits as part of total compensation.
