Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team, which is part of a full-service A/E Firm specializing in Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Civil disciplines. This role will be a key part of the Civil Team, collaborating on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to bring basic concepts and ideas to fruition with minimal supervision and excel in a team-based environment. Responsibilities include conducting site observations, field documentation, and analysis of existing sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site feasibility studies and environmental analysis.
• Develop schematic designs and coordinate engineering systems.
• Perform site cost analysis and design development.
• Prepare detailed site construction documents.
• Research specifications and materials.
• Perform document checking and coordination.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 1-2 or more years of experience in site/civil design, including knowledge of authoritative codes and regulations, subsurface utilities design, site grading, storm sewer systems, and land disturbance permitting.
• Possession of, or progress towards, an EIT certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater, drainage, and grading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience in project management is advantageous.

Work Environment

The position is based in our office located in Ft. Wayne, IN. The successful candidate will enjoy a supportive and close-knit team environment with ample opportunities for professional growth. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, with approximately 50% supporting the Architectural Team in educational and commercial developments, and 50% working directly with industrial clients on site/land development projects. The work environment is dynamic, and the backlog of projects ensures long-term opportunities for contribution and development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
