M&O Director
The M&O Director reports to the General Manager and will provide leadership and support for maintenance and operations under the contract to provide Operation, Maintenance, and Modernization of Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD), located in Hawthorne, Nevada. The M&O Director will also be the senior management representative for Akima. This role involves coordinating project budgets, schedules, and resources while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and contract requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing technical teams, overseeing project execution, and serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Act as the Director and principal staff officer, managing M&O interfaces with all stakeholders, to include elements of the Government and other contractor and Akima components.
- Establish goals and objectives, execute directives received from the General Manager, address inquiries, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Direct the delivery of facilities, infrastructure, and equipment maintenance services that meet all contractual requirements, to include the inspection, repair, and maintenance of all Government Furnished Property (GFP) and components.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate, State, Federal and Department of Defense rules, regulations and guidelines pertaining to facilities operation and maintenance of U.S. Government installations.
- Establishes, implements and maintains programs, procedures, databases and systems to ensure that all work is performed without detrimental impact to the environment and in accordance with all Company and departmental safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate budgets, schedules, materials, and personnel to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of services.
- Lead and guide technical staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and resolving challenges to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Document and present status reports to the General Manager, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans as needed.
- Oversee daily management of activities, including work execution, personnel supervision, and resource utilization.
- Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance outcomes.
Qualifications :
Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret Clearance.Bachelor's degree in project management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. (Equivalent combination of closely related job experience and formal education may be considered).10+ years of relevant experience in project or operations management, including leadership of technical teams.Strong leadership and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage complex projects.Expertise in project budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and team members.In-depth knowledge of environmental and safety compliance requirements and best practices in a technical environment.Desired Qualification :
Previous experience managing maintenance and operations projects in an Army or government contract environment.Experience in maintaining aging and / or obsolete Government property, and hard-to-find replacement parts / spares.Experience managing a union work force, including understanding and experience in labor relations in a military industrial environment.Familiarity with Army depot operations, infrastructure maintenance, and facilities management.PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Key Competencies :
