Customer Quality Lead (CQL) / Mission Assurance Lead (MAL)

We are seeking an experienced professional Customer Quality Lead (CQL) / Mission Assurance Lead (MAL) to implement and manage a Quality Assurance System and specific customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program lifecycles. You will tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements for program teams and supply base. The selected individual will act as the voice of the customer to independently assure mission success. The CQL / MAL is responsible for indirectly leading a cross-product team of Mission Assurance Engineers. Responsibilities will include supporting programs ensuring that Mission Assurance technical requirements are developed using approved development processes and procedures. The CQL / MAL must be able to work within a cross-function, matrixed organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with Supplier Quality, Hardware Quality and various Engineering disciplines. This is an onsite position located in Marlborough, MA.

What You Will Do :

  • Lead, coach, and mentor others in routine settings and difficult situations.
  • Represent Mission Assurance (MA) on a Program Area or Product Line leadership team and / or capture teams.
  • Leverage MA best practices to influence business decision makers to assure efforts are properly focused on customer care-about and requirements associated with mission success.
  • Communicate program goals, objectives, requirements, and customer feedback to all MA disciplines, cross-functional program teammates, and supply base to assure alignment.
  • Provide program direction to assure quality tasking is accomplished within budget, on time, and as defined in program planning.
  • Define and analyze MA metrics.
  • Establish customer relations and process and validate customer corrective action requests.
  • Assess impact of potential customer escapes. Co-chair Program Area or Product Line Corrective Action Board (CAB) to meet measures and metrics from leadership reviews.
  • Ensure independent reviews and assessments of program performance are performed, including independent technical assessments of systems engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), lessons learned, technology, production, and programmatic (cost, schedule, and risks) practices assuring Quality Management System (QMS) processes are defined and implemented.
  • Lead MA teams in performing to expectation and mentoring individuals in talent enhancement and new systems and processes including : CORE, APQP, Use of Stages.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to independently assure mission success.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Skilled in collaboration, problem-solving, and developing practical solutions with program leadership.
  • Experienced in performance improvement, risk management, Earned Value Management, and program pursuit / capture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong communication skills and willingness to travel (?10%).
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • ASQ Quality Certification with expertise in ISO 9001, AS9100, and MA Cert MAL Level 3.
  • Aerospace or Defense industry experience with knowledge of systems engineering, reliability, and system safety.
  • Skilled in audits, nonconformance review boards (MRB / FRB), and Quality Management Systems.
  • Experienced in IPDS / gating, program phasing, and leading / mentoring teams for performance improvement.
  • Defense Industry Background.

  • The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
