DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the clinic manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers, the Medical Assistant (MA) performs work that requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within the Business and Professions Code of the State of California and the regulations of the Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Hospitals (TJC).
These duties also include, but are not limited to : scheduling patient appointments and managing associated system screens, ensuring accurate billing, performing environmental care functions, equipment and supply management, and maintaining cleanliness through proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols. This role requires knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. The Medical Assistant also must demonstrate initiative, effectively prioritize multiple demands, and work collaboratively in a team environment. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Previous Medical Assistant experience and one (1) year of Ambulatory Care experience.
Knowledge in medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.
Experience in direct patient care.
Requires initiative and the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and collaborates effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Annual Full Pay Range : $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $25.31 - $31.50
