We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Packaging Developer to lead the development of innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective packaging solutions. In this role, you will manage packaging and displays from development through bulk production. This is a critical role ensuring all packaging and displays meet brand standards, quality expectations, and retailer requirements.
The Senior Packaging Developer will partner with cross-functional teams—including Design, Marketing, Sourcing, Operations, and Sustainability—to ensure we deliver best in class packaging and display execution at retail. You will leverage technical expertise in materials, color management, structural engineering, and production processes to drive packaging innovation, improve efficiencies, and deliver results across three premium brands.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the end-to-end packaging development process from digital concept through final printed bulk production, ensuring feasibility, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships, collaborating with suppliers to source materials, optimize specifications, and resolve development challenges.
- Ensure packaging complies with retailer requirements, regulatory standards, and sustainability guidelines.
- Conduct testing and validation of packaging for performance, durability, and consumer usability using provided software and hardware.
- Support sustainability initiatives by integrating recyclable materials, reducing packaging waste, and managing EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) reporting with Senior Packaging Designer.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for cost savings, material efficiencies, and innovative solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, specifications, and workflows within PLM and related project worklflow systems.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in packaging development, engineering, or related technical role.Strong knowledge of packaging materials (paperboard, corrugate, plastics, sustainable alternatives) and manufacturing processes.Familiarity with packaging testing protocols, performance validation, and regulatory compliance.Experience working with global suppliers, manufacturing partners, and PLM systems.Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Knowledge of sustainability practices, EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) reporting, and emerging packaging innovations preferred.Leadership or mentoring experience a plus.Annual starting salary of $90,000.
