Job Title : Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : ER Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience required; considered for 1.5 years with Level I Trauma experience preferred. License : NM license can be pending at the time of submission. Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission). Must-Have : - Travel experience strongly preferred - Floating to Pediatric ED is optional; floating to Adult PCUs is expected - Must be willing to work weekends as needed Description : No RQI certifications accepted. Current hospital staff is experiencing an increased number of admit holds. Approximately 60%-80% of patients in the Emergency Department are admitted. Many of the ED rooms are designated for ED Holding. Medication administration includes IV medications via the seven medication rights. Document and communicate clinical findings. Patient ratios are 1 : 5. Weekend shifts include Saturday and Sunday for day shifts and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for night shifts. Travelers will be expected to work per staffing needs. Many patients in Adult PCUs are Med Surg. Trauma and resuscitation experience preferred. Special procedures and unit details include working in the ED holding area. Bar Code Medication scanning is expected of all personnel. Compliance documents must be submitted two Fridays before starting. Requests for time off should be limited to one holiday bundle. No requests for time off permitted during the first or last day of the contract. Travelers can work up to 12 consecutive months before needing a break. Approval for overtime is rare and must be obtained before the work is done. Ensure any schedule conflicts or requests for time off are communicated prior to submission. All staff must have personal transportation for work assignments. Drug screening is required within 30 days of the start date. Modules during orientation are billable up to four hours, any additional time is non-billable. Modules are documented via unit educators through learning central.
