Job Description
Position : Systems Administrator
Duration : 6+ Months
Location : Nutley, NJ - 07110
Responsibilities
- Perform application / operating system support for large numbers of globally-based Windows / HP systems.
- Analyze alarms from monitoring tools. Perform corrective actions to restore service for clients subscribing to TRM services.
- Implement changes on production devices. Assist front-line client-supporting staff identifying and resolving complex application and connectivity failures.
- Liaise with regional and global staff to ensure production systems are processing data real-time and that all emergency procedures and service restoration documentation are updated accordingly.
- Responsible for reporting service outages and documenting events and service outages in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensuring all service checks, changes, procedures are followed as outlined in service level agreement and internal standard operating procedure.
- Offers solutions and suggestions for process and product improvements to management.
- Complete daily activities ensuring that the team is meeting quality standards for each position set by management.
- Create / Update incident and change tickets with actions taken by the group.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.
Qualifications
Working knowledge / experience of Solaris / Linux or Microsoft Server Operating SystemsWorking knowledge / experience of Microsoft Office, Internet Protocols, and networking technologies.Solid technical, analytical, and problem solving skills with emphasis on both process and technology to solve business problems.Shift Position : Overnight or Day - (includes weekends and rotation on ad-hoc basis)Desired Skills and Experience
Technical Operations experience a plus. Working knowledge of news and / or financial markets.Experience working within a global organization.Experience with administrating Windows-based systems in an enterprise environment.ITIL working knowledge.Education / Certifications Required
