PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location : Puyallup, WA 98372 (Washington healthcare jobs) Facility : Level III Trauma Center, 40-bed Progressive Care Unit Assignment Type : Travel RN contract Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 21, 2026 Duration : 14-week travel nursing assignment Shift : 12-hour nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990 - $2130 First-time Travel Nurses : Welcome PCU RN Qualifications & Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Washington RN license preferred for local candidates) Minimum 1.5 years of recent nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proven experience with telemetry, trach care, CIWA, BiPAP, central line maintenance, tube / drain management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation Traveler Telemetry Competency (must be completed and passed prior to start) COVID-19 vaccination required EPIC charting experience preferred PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care to adults with complex medical needs, including respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, post-surgical complications, oncology, diabetes, renal complications, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and comfort care Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation for all patients Administer and monitor medications such as Cardizem, heparin, insulin (non-DKA), nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dilaudid Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, resource nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and therapy staff Float as needed to ICU (PCU-level patients), CCU, Observation, ED Holding, and overflow units Participate in hospital and unit orientation, including safe patient handling and glucose management training Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC and other hospital systems Join our healthcare team in Puyallup, WA and make a difference as a travel PCU Registered Nurse.
