Job Details

  • Responsible for basic nursing duties including execution of physician orders, operation of pill call, operation of sick call, assisting physician in examinations and treatments, and performing technical / clinical procedures within scope of license.
  • Assist in professional management of facility medical department.
  • Apply appropriate nursing skills in care and treatment of inmates / residents.
  • Attend sick call with physician to see inmates / residents; prepare list of inmates / residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
  • Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by policies and procedures.
  • Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory as required by established procedures.
  • Perform emergency procedures as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area using appropriate sanitation methods.
  • Document and report activities in accordance with established policies and procedures including medical file documentation.
