About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Tech

Profession : Surgical Services

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour

Hours per Shift : 8 Hours (07 : 00 - 15 : 30; 11 : 00 - 19 : 30)

Experience : Minimum two years of pediatric scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.

License : Must have valid license

Certifications : BLS certification through American Heart Association only

Must-Have : Strong skills in Eyes, Urology, Neuro, and Ortho.

Description :

The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery.

They promote the safety of the patient during surgery.

They provide assistance to the surgeon during surgery.

The role involves caring for the patient throughout the surgical process.

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for the instruments and supplies used in surgery.

They function as a member of the surgical team to ensure patient safety.

The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities may include coverage for general surgery, neurosurgery, ortho, ENT, and GI procedures.

High acuity experience is required.

Candidates must demonstrate competency and skills related to pediatrics and neonates.

Must possess knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes.

Candidates must be available for weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call responsibilities.

Travelers may float to multiple units based on current staffing needs.
