Tax Preparer

We are seeking highly experienced and meticulous seasoned Tax Preparer to join our team! The

ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations

and have a proven track record of accurately preparing complex individual and business tax

returns. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, a commitment to client service, and the

ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment during peak tax season.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Tax Preparation : Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals (1040), corporations (1120, 1120-S), partnerships (1065), trusts, and non-profits, ensuring compliance with current California tax laws.
  • Client Management : Conduct thorough, professional interviews with clients to obtain necessary tax information and understand their financial situations.
  • Research and Compliance : Stay current on all new tax legislation, tax court rulings, and regulatory changes (e.g., IRS, state DOR) and apply knowledge to client situations.
  • Audit Support : Assist clients with tax audits, notices, and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Software Proficiency : Efficiently utilize tax preparation software and related technologies.

Qualifications Required :

  • Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience preparing and reviewing a wide range of complex tax returns.
  • Technical Skills : Expert knowledge of Form 1040 and related schedules, along with experience in corporate and / or partnership taxation.
  • Software : Proficiency in major tax software platforms (e.g., UltraTax, CCH ProSystem fx, Lacerte) and QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering excellent client service.
