Responsibilities and Duties
Provide direct patient care and clinical duties at the assigned facilityParticipate in civil commitment proceedingsAssess and provide DSM diagnoses as appropriatePrescribe and monitor psychotropic medicationsDeliver a range of professional services including counseling, disease process management, ordering lab work, and reviewing resultsSupervise and mentor other facility-based mental health staffAssess the needs of mental health services, maintain statistics, and prepare reports related to mental health careRecommend and implement improvements for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in mental health servicesAccept on-call status as neededOffer direct casework services and individual, group, and family counseling to inmates / residents and their familiesAssist in developing and implementing treatment and therapeutic programs for inmates / residentsPrepare progress reports, discharge recommendations, and case presentationsSupport administrative and medical staff with statistical reportingServe as liaison for group counseling, volunteer activities, and events promoting mental health servicesSupervise inmates / residents within the facility and during community activities; promote positive community relations and utilize community services as appropriateMaintain confidentiality of inmates / residents and audit files to confirm documented servicesCoordinate professional services provided by contract personnel if applicablePrepare and maintain various records and reports, ensuring proper documentation and timely processingAttend staff and group meetings essential for effective program delivery and communicationApply established corporate, facility, and correctional policies while performing duties with professional independence and sound judgmentReview, process, and respond to lawsuits via corporate counsel; attend court hearings as neededAdditional Information
