We're Hiring : Registered Nurse!
Serve as the MAT nursing team member who will be the primary team member to work inside the jail. Facilitate Medication induction and continuation of arriving clients at the jail. Complete nursing assessment of new referrals, complete urinalysis and vital signs, give injections. Attend and participate in team meetings. Facilitate remote medical appointments.
The Registered Nurse (RN) (Medical) is responsible for providing holistic nursing care within the appropriate scope of practice to incarcerated patients while working under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and / or Nursing Supervisor and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to identify, assess, and respond to a wide range of physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.

Role : Correction RN Onboarding
Schedule / Contract : 40 hours per week. 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM shift (Monday-Friday)
Responsibilities :
- Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to DRC Bureau of Medical Services guidelines, policies, protocols & related ACA standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments & diagnostic impressions, any other treatment plans & follow-up parameters
- Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance
- Takes outpatient call as directed by the CMO, after approval by the BOMS State Medical Director
- May be required to work at more than one institution
- Under the direction of the institutional Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Correctional Nurse will monitor progress of and intervene in the course of chronic illnesses, using the DRC policies and protocols for guidance
- Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accepts suggestions, redirection, and guidance
Qualifications :
Associate's degree requiredActive RN license to practice in Maryland.Current CPR and BLS cardMinimum of one year of work experience as an RN preferred in a community outpatient clinic, hospital or long-term care facility preferred.Corrections or rehab experience required.Must have four years of clinical experienceMust be able to communicate effectively with professional nursing staff, medical staff and allied health professionals attending or lecturing in classesMust have superior writing skills to compose course outlines, objectives and manualsMust demonstrate competence in technical skills and knowledge related to assigned clinical areasReady to make a difference in patient care? 🚀 Apply now and join our healthcare team!
