Scheduler at Zephyr Rail

Zephyr Rail, a celebrated name in the railroad design and Construction Management industry, is seeking an experienced Scheduler with 10+ years of hands-on experience in project scheduling within the rail, transit, and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules to support major infrastructure programs. This role requires advanced knowledge of project control tools, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of construction and engineering processes in transit-related projects.

Responsibilities :

Develop and manage detailed, resource-loaded CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules for large-scale rail and transit projects
Interface with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather data, and forecast project milestones
Prepare monthly schedule reports, look-ahead schedules, time impact analyses (TIA's), and schedule recovery plans
Identify schedule risks and provide mitigation strategies.
Participate in risk workshops and support the development of risk-adjusted schedules
Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to align schedules
Utilize software tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling reporting systems
Support project planning activities, including WBS development, baseline schedule creation, and recovery planning
Ensure compliance with contract requirements, local transportation agency standards, and industry best practices

Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in scheduling, preferably on rail, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects

Proficiency in Pimavera P6 and MS Project is required

Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methods, schedule logic, and delay analysis

Experience working with public agencies (e.g., LA Metro, Caltrans, BART. Sound Transit, etc.) is a plus

Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, CMGC, or P3 preferred

Ability to interpret design and construction documents, including drawings and specification

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment

PMP or PSP certification is a plus

Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau is preferred

Ability to commute to the Los Angeles office daily - required

Salary Range : $135,000 - $208,000 / annually
