We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Electronics Technician Maintenance I.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

This position is in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Contract for the Digital Range Training System (DRTS). Essential elements of the job include performing installation and operations of the DRTS System devices, inspections, regular preventative maintenance, repair, and testing.

  • Perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment for the DRTS Device.
  • Maintain appropriate Contractor Performance Factor (CPF) status for assigned training devices by performing all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment for UMS.
  • Assist in management of device spare parts inventories, and research and select repair parts as needed from Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) or consumable stocks or research the AWARE and IFS systems to identify and / or procure repair parts.
  • Apply basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting military specifications, manufacturer's manuals, or similar technical documents to perform training system PMCS, troubleshooting and fault isolation. IAW technical guidelines
  • Work closely with Instructors during training execution to resolve software / hardware issues in a timely manner so they do not detract from the training experience.
  • Enters work order data in the management system.
  • Assist in maintaining other training devices during manpower shortages and training surges.
  • Applies basic or intermediate technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • This position may require travel to other installations in support of DRTS and other devices throughout CONUS.
  • Cross-training and utilization with other TADSS devices on Fort Carson, CO.

  • One to two years (1-2) experience with electronics testing / troubleshooting preferred
  • Basic computer skills two to four years (2-4) experience; proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Must be able to obtain / maintain a valid driver's license and On-Post driving privileges
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required
  • Must be able to travel as required
  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Pay Rate : $31.33
