As a Capital One Lead Data Engineer (Generative AI), you will help bring the transformative power of emerging AI capabilities to reimagine how we serve our customers and businesses who have come to love the products and services we build.

The AI Foundations team is at the center of bringing our vision for AI at Capital One to life. Our work touches every aspect of the research life cycle, from partnering with academia to building production systems. We work with product, technology and business leaders to apply the state of the art in AI to our business.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full‑stack development tools and technologies
• Work with a cross‑functional team of applied researchers, data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers and product managers to test and design AI‑powered products that change how customers interact with their money.
• Utilize a broad stack of technologies, including AWS Ulabora clusters, Spark, Kubeflow, and more, to support the data pipelines fueling Capital One's customer behavior foundation models.
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
• Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance.

Salary ranges by location :

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long‑term incentives (LTI).
