Job Description :
The Division of Oil, Gas and Mining is looking for an outgoing, detail-oriented individual who enjoys the challenges and working in a regulation audit support role. You will work directly with the Compliance Program Manager. You will lead and conduct professional audits of oil and gas companies to determine compliance with reporting requirements in the primary areas of oil and gas production and disposition, natural gas processing plants, and well tax credits for work-overs and re-completions. Prepare formal audit reports to communicate issues and recommendations. Develop queries and perform analysis to resolve non-compliance in oil and gas reporting before formal audits. Other duties include preparing summaries and reports and making recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities
- Review oil and gas properties, gas processing plants, waste disposal facilities, relevant tax credits, and other associated activities.
- Lead and / or conduct audits (i.e., determines the nature, scope and direction of the audit; review and analyze available information, identifies potential issues, schedules audit, prepares audit work papers, etc.).
- Perform audits, including pre-audit planning, entrance conference, fieldwork, report writing, exit conference, and follow-up.
- Applies principles, methods, and techniques of auditing to analyze and interpret records and operational systems of oil and gas operators.
- Utilize computer programs to obtain and analyze information.
- Organize audits to effectively and efficiently accomplish audit goals.
- Identify risk areas and their effect on audit scope and objectives.
- Analyze, summarize and review data; report findings, interpret results, and make recommendations.
- Complete working papers in accordance with audit standards and agency guidelines to effectively communicate audit results.
- Write high-quality correspondence, reports and other necessary documents concerning audits and other assignments.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and / or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Physically inspect oil and gas wells, natural gas processing plants, and related facilities and equipment.
- Develop recommendations to assist management in improving operational efficiency, and / or compliance with auditing policies, state laws, and administrative rules.
- Work closely with the Compliance Program Manager to assist in royalty issues.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications :
