About the Role :

The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks within the Treasury Department to include reconciliation of cash receipts through the lockboxes, payment posting, correspondence sorting and distribution and credit balance resolution. Additional responsibilities may include general ledger receipts and reconciliation, inter-company transfers, and scanning / indexing / document imaging.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform lockbox processing.
• Reconcile bank deposits or inter-company transfers.
• Process credit card payments.
• Prepare payment posting batches.
• Post cash receipts to patient accounts.
• Post insurance denials using the denial code(s) identified on the Explanation of Benefits.
• Sort and distribute correspondence.
• Scan and index documents into the document imaging system.
• Resolve credit balances on patient accounts.
• Post all payments and reconcile prior to month-end to include credit card payments, manual posting and electronic posting of insurance and patient payments.
