Project Manager

Lead end-to-end delivery of automation and controls projects for Tier 1 and OEM automotive clients.

• Create and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and task trackers - ensuring strict adherence.
• Supervise and coordinate a multidisciplinary team, including controls engineers, electricians, mechanical contractors, PLC programmers, and OEM vendors.
• Track and report KPIs, critical path items, resource allocations, and project risks.
• Drive accountability across all trades - enforce deadlines, push progress, and escalate blockers.
• Oversee implementation of PLC, HMI, VFD, safety systems, and industrial network components.
• Review and approve electrical schematics, layouts, bill of materials (BOMs), and commissioning documentation.
• Lead regular site coordination meetings, client updates, and status reviews.
• Ensure all work meets automotive industry standards (GM, Ford, Stellantis, VW, Toyota, etc.), including safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
• Control change management, RFIs, and scope deviations with strong documentation and communication.
• Maintain discipline, enforce instructions, and operate with integrity and command.
• Required Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of project management experience in automation / controls within the automotive sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing large field teams (50-100+ personnel) on automation installs or line integrations.
• Proven track record of completing complex automation projects on time and within budget.
• Strong working knowledge of PLC platforms (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), SCADA, industrial safety systems, and control architectures.
• Proficiency in project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, etc.).
• Familiarity with automotive tooling standards, plant layouts, conveyor systems, body shops, and final assembly.
