We are expanding with a new Orlando office and seeking a Principal Electrical Controls Engineer to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of cutting-edge control systems for high-profile projects in Amusement, Entertainment, and Aerospace. This is a unique opportunity to shape the success of our Florida office while working on projects that inspire millions.
What You'll Do
Lead concept, design, and implementation of advanced control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, network architecture).
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
Drive prototype testing, commissioning, and debugging of new assemblies and structures.
Provide high-level technical support for warranty, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering.
Conduct inspections at manufacturing facilities and oversee field installations.
Prepare detailed design documentation and support proposals / marketing initiatives.
Stay current on advancements in controls hardware / software to enhance system performance.
What We're Looking For
B.S. in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering (ABET accredited).
5+ years of experience with B.S. or 3+ years with M.S. in related field.
Proven expertise with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and motor controllers.
Strong knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000 hardware / software.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and create detailed documentation.
Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.
Familiarity with NEC and functional safety standards.
Willingness to travel up to 20% (primarily to Minneapolis HQ).
Preferred Qualifications :
M.S. degree, Florida E.I.T or P.E. registration.
2+ years in Amusement / Entertainment industry.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Eplan, or related drafting software.
Knowledge of 3-phase motors, facility power systems, and ASTM F2291 standards.
Hands-on field experience and risk management with custom designs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00 / yr.
