Job description
Site: The General Hospital Corporation

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.

The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for an assistant professor faculty position in the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). Applicants with a track record of excellence in teaching and scholarship at the graduate level are encouraged to apply. All areas of expertise in AuD training will be considered. Areas of interest include tinnitus, APD, adult aural rehabilitation, instrumentation, counseling, and others.

The AuD program joins an interprofessional team of highly ranked programs in the CSD department and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. These include master’s and clinical doctoral programs in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Genetic Counseling, as well as the research program in Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD). Located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, the MGH Institute is an autonomous graduate school affiliated with Mass General Brigham, which includes the Massachusetts General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, as well as a physician’s network, community health centers, and other health care entities.

The AuD program works in partnership with Mass Eye and Ear institute and is supported by local clinical partners at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Boston VA. These affiliations offer unparalleled opportunities for faculty and students to learn and work alongside expert practitioners in a variety of hospital, clinical, and community settings.

The Institute provides support for faculty pursuing various research and scholarly paths, including access to interprofessional collaborators, grant development resources, and peer mentorship. Assistant professors are encouraged to develop individualized programs of scholarship that align with their interests and career stage, whether focused on clinical innovation, education, translational research, health equity, or community engaged scholarship.

The IHP is committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation that reflects each faculty member’s experience, expertise, responsibilities, and performance. The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $145,000, based on faculty rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor), qualifications, and discipline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors such as academic and clinical experience, teaching responsibilities, education, licensure, specialty, training, market, and internal equity. This range represents base salary only and does not include benefits or other elements of total compensation; details about the full compensation and benefits package will be shared during the recruitment process.
