Provide administrative oversight as well as clinical and reflective supervision to WellPower’s infant/ early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) program (“PLAY”) to ensure children and families served received excellent preventive and clinical care and community partnerships are thriving. The PLAY program provides early childhood mental health consultation services to childcare centers throughout Denver County. This position is responsible for: maintaining and enhancing ongoing delivery of infant/early childhood mental health promotion and prevention services as well as associated community partnerships. Support the ongoing training and development of supervisees as well as the implementation of specialty mental health promotion/prevention/treatment initiatives. Oversee the management of team operations and work to maximize efficiencies while insuring the highest quality of care possible for the individuals we serve as well as the meaningful engagement of staff members.

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000/year

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide clinical, reflective and administrative supervision to a team of early childhood mental health consultants.
  • Work with individual team members to solve day-to-day clinical issues and to optimize service delivery to meet the needs of the individuals and families we serve.
  • Oversee partnerships with numerous community-based early learning centers to ensure collaborative, coordinated and satisfactory relationships and progress toward shared objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Facilitate and manage the hiring process for clinical positions on the team.
  • Provide input and feedback regarding individual team member performance in terms of strengths and opportunities for growth. Conduct disciplinary discussions and actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate training and foster development of clinical staff to ensure a consistently high quality of care with an emphasis on ongoing clinical growth and learning while instilling awareness of cultural diversity.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency standards of medical record documentation are met.
  • Participate in committees and workgroups in the community to support early learning center partnerships and ECMHC, including Denver’s Launch Together Initiative.
  • Provide trainings to community organizations on Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health and Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health consultation.
  • Support the collection of all required outcome, evaluation, and billing data.
  • Assist with the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of the team. Take corrective action as needed to ensure compliance of established budget; track and compile reports for multiple grants and funding streams.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health & Outpatient Services and VP of Child & Family.

EDUCATION: Master’s or Doctoral Degree in psychology, social work, or other human services field. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist licensure required with IMH-E III/IV preferred. Colorado licensure must be valid and in good standing.

EXPERIENCE: At least five years in mental health or human service field working with young children and families ages birth-5 years. Two or more years of supervisory and program management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of early childhood mental health consultation and sound clinical ability required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge and expertise in infant/early childhood mental health consultation.
  • Self-motivated and directed, demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, have experience with infrastructure development and hold a high value for diversity.
  • Ability to establish collaborative partnerships with clinicians and fellow community organizations.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the realm of clinical and reflective supervision.
  • Knowledge of infant/early childhood mental health screening and diagnosis (DC:0-5).
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions and exercise good clinical judgment
  • Flexibility, adaptability as well as the ability to focus attention on workflow processes, procedures, budgetary guidelines, and documentation/productivity standards.
  • The ability to laugh with others and have a sense of humor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS: General HOURS: M-F, 8am-5pm with one late evening until 7pm weekly (may vary). May require occasional early morning, evening or weekend hours.

Tuberculosis (TB) screening, testing - TB screening and testing, is required and must be completed prior to hire ( i.e., preplacement), and maintained during employment.
