Job descriptionActive Virginia dental hygiene license required CPR / AED / First Aid certification. Proficient in dental hygiene procedures Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment and clerical techniques in a medical setting; knowledge of dental equipment and care and medical terminology Ability to work independently as part of a team X-ray interpretation and technique Ability to work with a team of volunteers and staff committed to the mission of Bradley Free Clinic Patience, understanding and compassion in direct interactions with patient May require long periods of sitting or standing; appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn while administering dental treatments. Ability to coordinate patient care with other staff members and make decisions that are in the best interest of patients and the clinic; Ability to use basic Windows-based computer applications and database systems; and Highly organized and attention to detail concerning patient care.

SUPERVISOR : Dentist / Executive Director STATUS : Part-Time : 1-2 days per week
POSITION SUMMARY
PT (1-2 days per week) / dental hygienist in our expanding dental program located within our multi-disciplinary health clinic.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments
- Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including removal of plaque and calculus
- Take and interpret dental radiographs
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants
- Provide oral hygiene instructions
- Screen for oral disease and abnormalities
- Assist dentists with dental procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentations
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Work in a team environment
