JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for ensuring all store deli cases remain stocked and clean during business hours. Assists customers and co-workers as instructed by supervisors. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Grocery Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Works safely at all times and follows all established safety guidelines and procedures. Stocking and maintenance of deli cases; to ensure adequate presentation of product, good selection / variety, and correct pricing and product dating to maintain appropriate rotation of deli goods. Ensures prompt assistance is provided to customers and that staff is offering advice on selection, and storage of deli products. Cleaning of deli cases; to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all deli cases and storage coolers. Assists Dept. Manager - Grocery with receiving, and stocking, rotation of product and inventory of department as requested. Monitors and maintains deli department merchandising displays and signage. Monitors and maintains cleanliness and organization of deli department. Walks deli department regularly to ensure an organized and clean appearance at all times. Must follow all sanitation guidelines. Arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings. Performs other duties as requested or required by management.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for entire scheduled shift and regularly required to work in a cold environment. Must be able to bend, and lift, 50 lbs. Employee must ask another employee for assistance when lifting anything over 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
