FLIGHT NURSE BASE MANAGER INCENTIVES
- Starting Range $99,000-$102,000 annually + $5,000 annual Base Manager Stipend
- $10,000 Sign-on Bonus payable in two installments following the end of training
- Schedule is a 5 days on / 10 days off rotation
- Company paid crew housing while on shift
We're hiring Flight Nurse Base Managers to provide direct patient care in accordance with GMR protocols and / or medical direction. They also assist with coverage of open shifts as needed with the assigned area.
JOB DUTIES
Administrative / Leadership :
Maintain oversight of and provide direction for day-to-day operations at the base with focus on ensuring safety of patients and employeesOversee management and tracking of equipment, medications, supplies, facilities and vehicles as well as base-specific peer review completionAssist with the implementation of the marketing and public relations plan to enhance customer relations and servicePlan regularly scheduled base meetings; complete and distribute minutesOversee and / or participate in meetings and events involving safety, education, program development, marketing and public relationsAddress, follow up and provide feedback on issues, problems and concerns both within the base and company-wideManage base schedule in accordance to the schedule policy and in cooperation with the Program DirectorWill be called upon to contact staff eligible to fill unscheduled leave (i.e. sick calls) at specified baseMay be asked to assist in coordination of staff, timing and logistics for pre-scheduled flights.Assist with hiring process for specified baseMonitor employee orientation, performance, and training needs; develop improvement plans as needed in cooperation with education department, Leadership and HRAssist in staff evaluationsFacilitate the delivery of training and education, including verifying that employees attend trainingServe as a resource, coach / mentor for base personnel and coordinate with Operations, Clinical and HR for disciplinary actionOther duties as assignedClinical :
Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frameResponsible for daily base checks, which includes narcotic countProvide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentationMaintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiencesMaintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the SOPKnowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programsMaintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the publicFunctions as a medical flight memberAttends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing and completes necessary documentationAssists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and Pilot assistance when needed, e. radio, navigational, and visual observation activitiesComplies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoffConducts aircraft safety briefings as neededOther Duties
Participates regularly in departmental activities, projects, and committeesAttends and participates in meetings according to established guidelinesUndertakes and maintains projects as assignedActs as a mentor and / or participates in orientation of new employees.Participates in continuing education programsMaintains awareness of current issues related to pre-hospital care through participation in professional activities, i.e. national, state legislative-elected or appointedWill instruct classes as directed by Program DirectorWill assist with PR and marketing at established bases where needed within the assigned areaOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Experience :
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an emergency or critical care setting requiredFlight experience preferredEducation :
Current RN licensure in the states served by the assigned area requiredEMT Certification in state(s) where requiredAHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status. Will be required to obtain trauma certification within 6 months of hireAdvanced Certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) preferred, required within 12 months from date of hireInstructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS / PEPP, ITLS / PHTLS preferredPhysical Demands :
Must be willing to shave facial hair (if needed) to fit a N95 maskMust possess the gross and fine motor skills necessary to sufficiently provide the full range of safe and effective patient care activitiesLift and / or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistanceSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusMust be able to work a flexible work scheduleWhy Choose Guardian Flight?
