Medical / Ophthalmic Scribe

Salary range

$19.00 -$24.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary

Busy Ophthalmology practice seeking scribe to assist physicians before, during and after patient examinations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary duties include :

  • Working one-on-one with physician in the office setting.
  • Assisting physician & providers in rooming patients.
  • Taking live dictation from the physician directly into the EMR during physician- patient encounters
  • Entering data into EMR before, during and after patient visits.
  • Providing clinical & administrative support as needed to physician and office team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong writing skills
  • Quick and accurate typing speed, excellent computer skills
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience with EMR.
  • Must display a mature, professional demeanor, excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have ability to multi-task.

    • Ophthalmology background a plus.
