Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Oncology unit working with mixed acuity patients and requiring ONS Chemotherapy Certification.
Responsibilities
Work in an inpatient Oncology / Medical-Surgical unit with mixed PCU and MS patientsPatient population includes leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, and transplant candidatesUnit performs specialized procedures including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapyDay and night rotating 12-hour shifts with scheduling flexibility requiredNo guaranteed block schedule; candidate may be scheduled for days, nights, or both per department needsWeekends and holidays may be required based on staffing prioritiesResponsibilities include managing complex oncology diagnoses, administering chemotherapy, and handling stem cell transplant careTeam-based environment with mixed acuity patients and rapid response team involvementMaximum 7 days of requested time off allowed, with no time off permitted during the first 2 weeks of assignmentOnly 1 of the 3 major holidays off can be approved; managers prioritize candidates available for key holiday coverageOhio fingerprinting required promptly after contract acceptance; candidates living outside Ohio must comply with fingerprinting proceduresFormer employees are eligible after a 6-month break; current employees are ineligibleLocals are accepted at the same rateRequirements
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio) required and must be in hand at time of consideration1 year of medical-surgical and oncology experience requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredOncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification requiredMust have completed education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programOncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferredExperience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response, blood product administration, and line care requiredAt least 2 professional references required, including one from a supervisor or managerBenefits
