Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Sullivan, IN 47882 (Indiana healthcare jobs)

Facility Setting : Acute Care – Med / Surg / Tele (Acuity Care Unit)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (October 30, 2025 – January 29, 2026)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), rotating weekends (3 on, 1 off, 3 on rotation)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1630-$1750

Unit Size : 22 beds (includes LDRP and ICU beds)

Self-Scheduling : Available, finalized by nurse manager

Dress Code : Steel Gray scrubs

Charting System : MEDITECH 6.0

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to candidates awaiting Indiana licensure)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred

Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips

Experience with titrating IV drips, specifically Heparin

Travel nursing experience preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, minor surgical cases, small bowel obstruction, and COVID-19

Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms

Titrate and manage Heparin drips as per physician orders

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including nurse aides and house supervisors

Utilize CPAP and BiPAP equipment (no ventilator management required)

Accurately document patient care in the MEDITECH 6.0 electronic health record system

Participate in a 2-day unit orientation and ongoing professional development

Comply with unit policies, dress code, and scheduling requirements, including every other weekend and rotating holidays
