Phlebotomist II – Gainesville, GASummary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection, ensuring accurate labeling and processing, and supporting laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures (e.g., urine, fecal) with professionalism and care.
Clearly explain collection procedures to patients in a courteous and reassuring manner.
Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to established protocols.
Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining integrity and compliance with testing requirements.
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
Perform routine equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record-keeping.
Demonstrate proficiency with straight needles and butterfly needles.
Understand and follow all physician orders and laboratory protocols.
Comply with OSHA, DEP, and other safety regulations.
Answer phone inquiries and relay laboratory results as appropriate.
Participate in annual department training and continuing education.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of recent phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, specimen handling, and laboratory procedures.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work efficiently, follow protocols, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Phlebotomy certification is a plus

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr.
