North America - Sales Director – Altera

Job Description
As a Sales Director / Country Manager at Altera , you will drive strategic sales initiatives and manage key channel and partner relationships to grow revenue across our FPGA and embedded product portfolio. You will be responsible for managing the Americas distribution sales team, developing pipeline opportunities, converting those opportunities to design wins and managing the corporate and branch offices of our distribution partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and achieve / exceed sales targets and strategic objectives for North America and Americas distribution and channel offices
- Build and maintain strong, long‑lasting customer relationships with channel and ecosystem partners
- Drive outsized pipeline growth
- Identify emerging customer needs and align them with Altera’s FPGA and SoC solutions
- Collaborate with field applications engineering (FAEs) regional leadership, product teams, and marketing to deliver customer‑centric solutions
- Lead business planning and forecasting processes, pipeline management, and sales reporting
- Represent Altera at key industry events, customer meetings, and technical forums
- Maintain deep knowledge of competitor activity, market trends, and customer roadmaps
- Drive design wins and support the customer from concept through production deployment
- Ensure accurate CRM updates and account documentation
Salary Range
Bay Area, CA : $264.7K – $390.1K (actual salary may vary based on location, skill, experience)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Experience selling FPGAs, ASICs, or embedded computing platformsStrong understanding of FPGA technologies, embedded systems, or related hardware / software ecosystemsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; MBA is a plus10+ years of sales experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or high‑tech industriesProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical sales roleExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsAbility to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, matrixed environmentWillingness to travel up to 30% as neededPreferred Qualifications
Background in technical sales leadership in channel sales or distribution salesFamiliarity with vertical markets such as AI / ML, networking, automotive, or industrial automationJob Type
